The Fireman Who Loved Me by Jennifer Bernard

Publisher: Avon Romance
Published: 2012
Formant: ebook
Source: Amazon

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Fearless, smoking hot, and single: meet the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. These firemen might be heroes, but it's their bad luck in love that makes them legendary.

News producer Melissa McGuire and Fire Captain Harry Brody couldn't be more different, though they do have one thing in common: they're both convinced they're perfectly wrong for each other. But when Melissa's matchmaking grandmother wins her a date with Brody at a Bachelor auction . . .

Sparks fly. Passion flares. Heat rises. (You get the picture.)

Add a curse, a conniving nightly news anchor, a stunningly handsome daredevil fireman, a brave little boy, a couple of exes, and one giant fire to the mix, and Melissa and Brody's love may not be the only thing that burns.

My Thoughts:
When I think of Avon Romance, this is the kind of book that comes to mind. Fun, quick read with quirky dialogue between loveable characters. Loved every page. Who wouldn't want a fireman in the family? That's what Nelly was hoping for when she decided to win her granddaughter a fireman from the hottest firestation in California. Instead of getting the fireman she bidded on, Nelly watched Melissa spar, flirt, and fall for Capt. Brody (real name: Harry Brod *smirk*).

Every character in The Fireman Who Loved Me got a different response from me. For the most part, I loved them. Adored the main characters Nelly, Melissa, and Brody. They are loveable and I cheered them on from the get-go. On the other side, I hated Ella, Everett, and Rebecca. They played the perfect villians as they were only looking out for themselves. Especially Ella and Rebecca. Damn, I wanted to claw their fictional eyes out.

I loved the storyline. Yes, it was the typical "matchmaker" romance, but that is what I liked about it. Nelly had Melissa's best interests at heart. Although, she did go about it the wrong ways. The Fireman Who Loved Me made me laugh, cry, and laugh some more. I can't wait to continue with the series.
